Sunday Cat feature staring Frosty

Frosty is a people cat. He does not run and hide like the other scared cats but tries to get up on your lap and give you a sniff all over with his very cold nose. It may be 100 outside but his nose is always cold so his name Frosty has a double meaning.
Frosty is almost as big as the Stinker but in the fact he is overweight and would rather lounge next to you than run around the house. He hates to be away from his people for long and is always on the couch or kitchen with us and sleeps at the foot of the bed.
When we have been away from the house he is the first to greet us and will not quit doing this little hopping thing against our legs till we make all over him. The way he acts one would think we had been gone for days.
We can only think he acts like this because as kitten he was the last for us to catch. We found five kittens under our porch and rescued them. Three we kept and the other two found a home with our Vets sister who had a big barn. We call Frosty and his brothers Sambo and Blue the the three amigos. Brother Blue will appear soon.
Frosty has appeared before as our kitchen cat. He likes to sit on the stool and watch me cook.

Whipped Cream

This is a picture of a gardenia from our bush. The bush is by our back door and smells so good when you walk out the door. We had a few cooler days where we could open the window beside it and have the smell come in as the wind blew. This close up made me think of whipped cream.

Figs are coming in

Figs fresh from our tree. These boys are looking for a hot date with a biscuit.
The fig tree this year has more figs than last year maybe it’s because we have had more rain but whatever the reason they will sure be welcomed when the weather is cold. We will be putting some up and looking for new recopies so if any one has a favorite please let me know.

Brunch in the country

As stated before we have a brunch on weekends as I have more time and I like to sleep a little later on the weekends. After 4 days of 7:30 to 5:30 days, those few extra hours in the bed on Sat sure feel good. Of course, if the cat’s food bowl is empty they will worry you until you get up and feed them.
Here in the south, I grew up during the summer eating tomatoes any time and that meant at breakfast. I am so lucky we are able to get some good tomatoes from the farmers market but even better form the neighbors in the neighbor hood and not have to worry about the dreaded salmonella.
We have put up some asparagus and the way its going I may not have any left for the winter.
This is hash brown potatoes, fresh tomatoes, cheese grits with shrimp and scrambled eggs with asparagus, and shrimp. I really do not have this written down as I just winged it over the years.
